Earlier on, Nick De Luca scored a breathtaking solo try at the start of the second half to put Edinburgh back into the lead against Ospreys at the Liberty Stadium, but another two James Hook penalties have put Ospreys back in front. The Scotland centre started the move direct from the re-start and carried the ball up the pitch before off-loading to Matt Mustchin who in turn brought Calum MacRae into play. The move culminated with De Luca selling an outrageous dummy before touching down in between the posts. MacRae then added the extras with a straightforward conversion. But prop Geoff Cross has now been yellow carded for an alleged infringement at a ruck to take Edinburgh back down to 14 men after Allister Hogg had been sin binned just before half-time. James Hook then nailed his fifth penalty of the night to put Ospreys back in front. Four penalties from James Hook has handed Ospreys the half time advantage, but Edinburgh have scored the only try of the contest so far through captain Allister Hogg. The Scotland international scored after just eight minutes; finishing off a fine team move by driving over from close range. Calum MacRae added the extras to score his first points of the season in the penultimate game of the Magners League campaign. But Ospreys' stand-off Hook quickly reduced the deficit with an expertly taken penalty to make it 7-3 to Edinburgh and then added another to narrow the lead to just one point. MacRae then miscued two long range penalties to let Ospreys off the hook. Just before half-time Hogg was yellow carded as Edinburgh's were left chasing the game, despite enjoying an encouraging start.
