Dear Edinburgh Rugby Club, Everything went really well yesterday, bar the rain but did not dampen spirits. We had over 70 kids there, ranging from primary to secondary. Was not our initial plan to have primary involved in session but so many turned up that we split into age groups and played lots of little games with some skill work in between. The Edinburgh Players were great with the kids, Mike Blair, Simon Webster & Ross Rennie, Linda could you pass on a massive thank you from BATs please. Obviously the press were there and this was dominated with Edinburgh and the kids which was great publicity for them and us. Mike, Simon and Ross also spent a bit of time with the kids after the photos etc and the kids loved every minute of it. The Barbarians arrived just after 6, so ran a little late, however they came changed and after a discussion with John Jeffrey they played a big game of touch with all the kids. Which went down really well, I feel better than autographs etc. John Wright has some more photos which I will get him to forward to me, also in touch with Scotsman regarding media photos. A massive thank you to all teachers and parents who took time out to inform the kids about the event at such sort notice. Cheers Iain Berthinussen Edinburgh BATS
