Ross High are planning to celebrate their recent promotion into National League Division Three by staging two 7’s tournaments on Saturday 5 April, 2008 for under-18’s and under-16’s.

The Tranent-based club enjoyed a phenomenal campaign and won the East League Division One title after defeating Dunbar 36-6.

Ross High Club President Scott Glynn, who was a guest of Edinburgh at the recent home match against Cardiff, said: “To be honest, the club was on the decline both in terms of rugby and socially. But the club has got a buzz about it now and the players have worked really hard.

“In fact it was a great achievement because at the start of the season we lost three games and people thought; ‘that’s it’. But because of the amount of bonus points we collected we managed to catch up.

“We have got a decent squad now. The seconds have been training really hard and a lot of the boys stepped up to the mark.”

In the under-16 tournament, Haddington face North Berwick, Heriot’s face BATS, Ross High play Linlithgow and Boroughmuir take on Livingston.

Meanwhile, in the under-18 tournament Currie play Livingston, BATS face Royal High, Haddington play Boroughmuir while Forrester face North Berwick.
