Centre Dey and Flanker Newlands were on form and McKillop claimed their contributions were instrumental in the win. Speaking to The Scotsman, McKillop said: "They both played a big part. Matt is a very good organiser of the midfield defence and Scott is very powerful in the tackle so there were a couple of times when he hit people and carried them back in the tackle. "That stops momentum and it is quite important. We are lucky to have them. Matt in particular is quite influential." |

Matt Dey and Scott Newlands were both singled out for praise by Heriot's coach Bob McKillop after they played prominent roles in the club's 16-15 win over Melrose in the Scottish Hydro Electric Premiership Division One encounter at Goldenacre.
