After having considered retirement at the end of the 2010/11 season, Scotland 7s lynchpin and all-time top try scorer Andrew Turnbull is delighted to be listed as one of twelve players to win a fulltime Scotland 7s contracts.
The announcement made by Scotland 7s head coach, Graham Shiel, will see the try scoring machine continue his involvement with Edinburgh Rugby during the rest periods of the HSBC Sevens World Series.
Turnbull said: “I am absolutely delighted. I was considering retirement, so for this to come along and give me a chance to play at this level for a few more years is great.
“I am looking forward to getting stuck in and having the opportunity to add a few more tries to my tally, that is what I am here to do.
“Also it will be nice to be involved with Edinburgh at different stages in the year.”
Joining Andrew Turnbull in the fulltime sevens squad are Colin Gregor, Peter Horne, James Eddie, James Fleming and Struan Dewar. Also the six pro players will be joined by six elite development players: Adam Ashe, Sam Hidalgo Clyne, Kerr Gossman, Rory Hughes, Sean Kennedy and Hamish Watson.
As well as announcing the new contracts Eddie, Gregor and Turnbull modelled the newly designed Scotland 7s kit for the new season.
