Fraser McKenzie admits he cannot wait to get involved in competitive action for Dundee HSFP against Boroughmuir this weekend (Saturday 30 January, kick off 3pm) because he wants to sharp should he get the call-up to play for Edinburgh at Munster next month (Friday, 19 February, kick off 8pm). McKenzie made his Magners League debut for the Black and Red Army in September against Connacht and then made his European bow against Bath at Murrayfield in December. Overall, the 21-year-old forward, who can play either at lock or at flanker, has recorded five replacement appearances and McKenzie says he cannot wait to continue playing for Dundee in Premier One in order to keep him match-fit. Become our 16th man when we face Ospreys at Murrayfield in the Magners League on Sunday 7 March (kick off 2pm). As we prepare to push for a play-off place, we need the support of our fans more than ever. Remember our great value AnyGame vouchers are still available to purchase (£15 for Adult admission instead of £20 when bought in advance). Call 0131 346 5180 for tickets and reserve your place for what promises to be a cracking game at the home of Scottish Rugby.
McKenzie said: “Playing for Dundee is really good me and I enjoy playing for them. They play a good brand of rugby; similar to the style we have at Edinburgh where we keep the ball moving. “I want to get as much game-time as possible with a Gael Force game coming up soon and then the possibility of playing for Edinburgh at Munster. “If I do get the nod for Munster then I want to make sure I’m as sharp as I can possibly be.” Meanwhile, prop Ryan Grant continues his comeback from a long term ankle injury to feature for Stewart’s-Melville against neighbours and rivals, Heriot’s in an Edinburgh derby at Inverleith.
