Roddy Grant issued a rallying cry in the aftermath of Edinburgh’s disappointing Heineken Cup loss at Bath and the openside flanker believes the Black and Red Army will put it right on Saturday (19 December, kick off 1.35pm). The back row forward, in his debut season as a professional, battled bravely until the end, but finished on the losing side as Bath clawed their way to a 16-9 win. But the Scotland ‘A’ internationalist revealed that immediately after the match the squad vowed to respond during next weekend’s showdown with the English giants. You can be part of one of the biggest games of the season by calling 0131 346 5180 and watching Edinburgh take on former European champions Bath at the home of Scottish Rugby. It promises to be another special 80 minutes of top-class rugby at Murrayfield, so make sure you don’t miss out on an early Christmas present by being there.
Grant said: “The game was hugely disappointing and afterwards everybody felt really flat. But one of the first things that came out of our discussion was that we believe we can beat them next week and put it right. “We all believe that. I don’t think they played particularly well and we certainly didn’t play particularly well. “We know exactly what they are going to do next week. We are really up for it already. We are going to look at the videos and the individual things to work on and I’ve no doubt we will turn up and get the victory. “It was a game that had so many twists and turns. In the first half, we didn’t play that well and they scored a couple of soft tries that we’re annoyed about. “The big thing was to come out in the second half and to get some points on. Chris Paterson kicked some really good penalties and got us back into the match. “Then, at the end, we were right on their line and we should’ve scored. Unfortunately we just couldn’t do it at the end. There were twists and turns, but we should never have let it get to that stage.”
