Simon Webster will make his comeback from injury for Dundee HSFP against Boroughmuir at Meggetland on Saturday (24 October, kick off 3pm) and the Scotland internationalist says he cannot wait to get back on the pitch. After injuring his Achilles while at the Scotland training camp in August, Webster then suffered a further injury blow with a torn plantaris tendon – leaving him sidelined for two months. But now the 28-year-old is ready to return and has been handed the number 13 jersey for Ian Rankin’s team with prop Davie Young and lock Fraser McKenzie also selected.
Webster said: “I’m just really looking forward to getting a bit of game-time on the pitch. “My main aim is to just get through the match and then move onto doing some more training. “But I also want to help Dundee to do well. I’ve been really impressed with the team so far and hopefully I can play my part in helping the winning run continues.” Meanwhile, Ryan Grant will start for Stewart’s-Melville against Heriot’s and Jim Thompson will play at full-back for Selkirk at Ayr. Scrum half Ross Samson will start for Edinburgh Academicals against Glasgow Hawks. Edinburgh Rugby Club actively supports and promotes all the clubs from in and around the district and beyond.
