Tim Visser highlighted how tough this afternoon’s Heineken Cup Pool Four tie at Bath (kick off 3pm, live on Sky Sports 2 via the red button) will be for Edinburgh, but he believes the Black and Red Army has got what it takes to come away with a vital win in the West Country.

Ulster’s home win over Stade Francais has once again blown the Pool wide open while Bath, the 1998 European champions, have only won once all season.

Nevertheless the Dutch winger forecasts a tricky contest in front of an expected 11,000 crowd at The Rec.

Visser said: “We know that they are a team that play the ball around quite a bit, essentially they play a lot like we do.

“We know that (Nick) Abendanon at full-back is a dangerous player and we know that they have not had a lot of success in recent games which puts us in a dangerous position.

“They have lost games by one or two points and they are bound to overcome. It is always going to be a tough match down here – their supporters are very vocal.

“We are going to try and play our game and hopefully we can come away with a win.”

Since joining from Newcastle in the summer, Visser has contributed four tries including the matchwinning effort against Ulster in the previous round of the Heineken Cup.

But the Zeewolde-born back believes that his development is still a ‘work in progress’ and that the best is still yet to come.

He added: “It is good to score because, as a winger, you always want to score and win games for your team. But even in games where I don’t score I try and do everything as perfect as I can.

“I think I’m never really satisfied with my performance and that is a good thing because I’m just trying to get better and better. I feel I’ve developed a platform from which I can build on and that is what I’m trying to do now.”
