Tim Visser celebrated scoring his third try of the new season and then pinpointed his next objective – enjoying a productive Heineken Cup debut against Stade Francais at the Stade Jean-Bouin (Saturday, 10 October, kick off 2.35pm, live on Sky Sports).

The big Dutchman steamrollered former IRB World Player of the Year, Shane Williams en route to scoring on the stroke of half-time at Ospreys.

The score was the chief highlight of Edinburgh’s defeat the Liberty Stadium and now the 22-year-old wants to carry on his try-scoring form into Europe’s premier competition. Remember supporters are actively encouraged to buy tickets (and AnyGame vouchers) for the Ulster match (Saturday 17 October, kick off 3.45pm) in the Heineken Cup as early as possible. Visser said: “I have never played in the Heineken Cup before because I had been involved in the Challenge Cup at Newcastle.

“I’m really excited at the prospect of potentially being involved in my first Heineken Cup game and for it to be against a team like Stade Francais will make it even more special.

“Hopefully we can get back to winning ways and ensure that it is a memorable day

“I’m quite pleased with the amount of tries I’ve scored so far this season – three tries out of four games. I really wanted to score against Leinster as well the week before and I came close to doing that twice.

“So it has gone quite well I guess, but I just want to do my job as a winger and make sure the team is as successful as possible.”

Up against Williams, Visser believes he learned a great deal from the head-to-head and says the experience has helped to shape his overall rugby education.

He said: “I enjoyed playing against Shane Williams and I learned quite a bit from the experience. I managed to score a try against him, but he burned me on the outside in the second half.

“He had quite a calm game and didn’t really do that much, but the things he did do he did very well.”
