Edinburgh have been drawn to face Bath, Stade Francais and Ulster in Pool Four of the Heineken Cup and vice captain Allister Hogg admits he is excited by the challenge ahead. Both Bath and Ulster are former winners of the premier competition in northern hemisphere rugby while Stade Francais, who have recently recruited ex-Edinburgh full-back Hugo Southwell, have lost in the final twice before. Nevertheless, despite the pedigree of the opposition, back rower Hogg says he is confident Edinburgh have a genuine chance of progressing through to the knock-out stages for the second time in the club’s history. All aboard for another European adventure as we travel to two continental capitals and England's West Country. Hogg said: “I think it is a really good draw for Edinburgh. We know it will be tough, but we’ve got a good chance and everyone will be looking forward to the challenge. “I’ve never played Stade before, so that should be interesting, especially with Simon Taylor and Shuggy (Hugo Southwell) there. “We beat Bath in a warm-up match last season, although they will be very difficult to beat and we know Ulster really well from our meetings in the Magners League.” Edinburgh supporters are being encouraged to embark on another memorable European adventure by signing up for a great value Season Ticket package. |
