Andrew Turnbull has been selected to represent Scotland 7s in the IRB Sevens in Adelaide later in March – capping off a memorable couple of months for the Edinburgh wing.
He started off playing for Scotland 7s in the arid heat of Las Vegas before being called into Gael Force’s starting line-up for the British and Irish Cup match against Plymouth at Lasswade which saw temperatures drop so much it was called off after 65 minutes.
Now the 27-year-old has been picked, with National Academy stand-off Rory Hutton, for the next big Sevens tournament in Adelaide, Australia which starts on 19 March.
Scotland 7s squad to compete at the IRB Sevens World Series event in Adelaide (19-21 March): Lewis Calder (London Scottish), Struan Dewar (Heriot's)**, Michael Fedo (Watsonians), Pat MacArthur (Glasgow Warriors), Colin Shaw*, Mike Adamson*, Ross Curle (Ayr), Rory Hutton (Heriot's)**, Peter Jericevich (Glasgow Hawks)**, Lee Jones (Selkirk)**, Chris Kinloch (Glasgow Warriors), Andrew Turnbull (Edinburgh)
Unavailable due to injury: Scott Forrest* (ankle)
* = Scotland 7s contracted player
