SEASON TICKET FAQS

BUYING

How do I buy a season ticket?
Either call the Edinburgh Rugby ticket office on 0131 346 5180 or visit www.edinburghrugby.org
You can also buy in person at the Ticket office or by post to Murrayfield (with the necessary paperwork).
When do season tickets go on sale?
Season Tickets will be launched to current season ticket holders at the Leinster match on Friday 17th April.  Season tickets will be launched to the general public on Monday 20th April.
If I want to sit with my friends, how do I buy?
The best way to ensure you get exactly what you want is to book over the phone.  Our staff are well trained to provide you with all information that you need.
If you are making postal applications and you want to sit together – please ensure you provide FULL information on all season ticket holders (email, name, address, age).  You will also need to ensure that these applications are made at the same time

PRICING

What price will I pay for my season ticket?
Standard Adult season tickets are priced at £160, Standard Concession season tickets are priced at £80 and Standard Junior season tickets are priced at £30.
There is a new price category introduced in 2009/10 – the Premium Season Ticket – which is priced at £300 for Adults, and £200 for all others.
Who are entitled to a concession season ticket?
You have to be over the age of 60 on 1st January 2010 or be a fulltime student with valid matriculation card.  Proof of concessionary status will need to be provided to the ticket centre prior to distribution of your Season Ticket.
Who are entitled to a Junior season ticket?
All children under the age of 18 on 1st January 2010 are able to purchase a Junior season ticket.
Is there an Early Bird deadline?
We feel that the season tickets value is a great one, and as such have not implemented an Early Bird discount.  We are however encouraging supporters to join as early as possible.
Do I have to pay the whole amount up front for my Season ticket?
Yes payment in full by Credit/Debit Card, cheque or Cash is required when booking your season ticket.
Can I buy a season car park pass?
No – as a season ticket holder, you will get a free car park pass as part of your benefits.  The spaces within the car park are limited and it is only open to season ticket holders on a first come first served basis.

CHUNK Q&A:
Q – What do you think of the price of Edinburgh’s season ticket for next season?
A – I think they are great value for money due to the huge discounts on match by match ticket price.  The benefits are really good with all season ticket holders gaining entry into all our home matches (including the pre-season friendly), 1872 cup away match against Glasgow at Firhill and two other Glasgow matches.

SEATING

Where will my season ticket allow me to sit?
The bulk of the stadium will remain unallocated, but we have set aside Blocks 19, 21 and 23 for season ticket holders, who will be able to choose where to sit.  In addition, some parts of Block 17 are now allocated as Premium.
Note – allocated season ticket holders are able to sit in any unallocated area should they choose to bring their friends along. This allocated area may grow dependent on the sales we achieve.

Where are the Premium Season Tickets?
These are the “best seats in the house” which are located at the back of the Lower Stand (Blocks 17 and 19) - this area is also used for Club sponsors, Club Directors, and visiting team dignitaries.
I am a season ticket holder and I want to keep my allocated seat – is this possible?
If you have an allocated seat, you will be given a window to keep your seat.  From launch (on April 17), your seat will be allocated to you until May 17th – when it will be put back into general circulation.  You can still buy after this time if your seat is available or take any other available seat.  We will also be launching a new premium seat (best seats in the stadium together with Legends Lounge access at all games) – current season ticket holders will have the same period to take these up first.
Can I choose my own seat?
You are able to select a seat online or over the phone.  All other season tickets will be allocated on a 'best available' at time of purchasing policy.
For advice on where to sit, please call the Ticket office (0131 346 5180) now.

I am a Season Ticket Holder and I want to know which sections of the West stand are reserved for season ticket holders?
If you have requested a reserved seat, you will be given a seat within sections 19, 21 and 23.  If you haven’t requested a seat you can sit in our unreserved sections (17, 15 and 13).

CHUNK Q&A:
Q – How good do you think the views are from the West stand?
A – Sitting in the season ticket areas of the West stand, you get great views of the pitch.  Of course I prefer the view form next to Ross as we slam into a scrum – but you would not want that view!!

MATCH DAY

What time will kick off be in 2009/10?
In 2009/10, Edinburgh Rugby Club home games will kick off at 7.30pm on a Friday night unless dictated to by TV schedules (or other outside factors).
When will we know our fixtures?
Of course we are dependent on the Competition rules, but it is likely that fixtures will be announced in June/July 2009.
Which stand will we be using on match day?
As per this season, our supporters will be located in the Lower West Stand.  From time to time – dependent on demand, we will also open other areas of the stadium.
Is there plenty of car parking near by?
There is on street parking around the stadium but the only public access to the official car park is for season ticket holders.
What time do the turnstiles open?
The turnstiles open one and half hours before the publicized kick off times.
I am disabled, is there a disabled section?
There is a designated area for wheelchair disabled in the West Stand which can accommodate 34 wheelchair users and carers.  Depending on the nature of your disability we will advise you on what would be the most suitable area of the stadium for you to be seated in.  Please contact the Ticket Office for should you require further assistance with seating etc.
I am disabled – can I park at the stadium?
Disabled parking is allocated to Scottish Rugby disabled pass holders on advance application only to the ticket office – please email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .  There will be no access to the disabled parking area to supporters without the required Scottish Rugby pass. Those with Scottish Rugby Disabled Car Park passes must also display their blue badge. For reasons of safety and space, no boot picnics are allowed in the disabled parking area.  There are limited numbers for Edinburgh games therefore we have in the past just permitted access to blue badge holders to the West car park.  They should however purchase their tickets in advance as the ticket office is not easily accessible from the West car park.
If I am coming to a match with a friend who needs a ticket, where can I go to get one?
If you need to purchase a ticket on match day, you can do so at the Murrayfield Ticket Centre which is at Gate A (just off Roseburn Street) at Murrayfield Stadium.  Where matches are on a Friday night the ticket centre will open at 6pm.
Where do I go on match day if I need to collect a ticket which I bought in advance?
If you have bought a ticket in advance, you should collect this from the Ticket centre.

CHUNK Q&A:
Q – What do you enjoy most about match day at Murrayfield?
A – I really enjoy the atmosphere at the matches and you always get a sense of excitement especially before Heineken Cup matches.  The crowd noise has been great in 2008/9 and I know that we will continue to see our crowd numbers grow.  The team have a got a great spirit aswell and it is a great Club to be a part of.  As Edinburgh is my home town – of course it is special to me, but we have a  good bunch of lads here.

FACILITIES

Will there be any changes to what’s available on match day in 2009/10?
The main change has been the introduction of the Premium Season Ticket.  The only other changes will be to further improve what we are currently doing.  The President’s Suite will remain open to all supporters (with direct access to the West stand pre match and at half time only available to season ticket holders who have tickets for West 17 and West 19 and corporate guests).
How is a Premium Season Ticket different?
As well as the improved seating, a Premium Season Ticket offers access to the Club’s Match day Hospitality Lounge for all games, including hospitality at every game.,  Magners league games (except for Glasgow) – Clubhouse hospitality (Pie and a Pint).  Glasgow Magners League game – 1872 Cup hospitality (a special Christmas event).  Heineken Cup games – Heineken Cup hospitality (hospitality will be dependent on time of kick off – but will be a hot food buffet option).  The Lounge will also play host to guest speakers (for Magners League games) and to Heineken Cup hospitality events (for example Question of Sport event).

CHUNK Q&A:
Q – Do you think there is a club atmosphere in the President Suite?

A – Yes I always enjoy going up to the President Suite after matches to have a beer whilst chatting to supporters.  All the players are always in there after matches so this helps to build a club atmosphere.  Sometimes I am a bit sore after the night’s work – but it is always great to mingle with our supporters and hear how well I have played!!

OTHER

I have a 2008/9 season ticket, but I haven't received anything about my new seat or renewing my season ticket?
All 2008/9 season ticket holders should receive a letter with details of their season ticket renewal by 18th May 2009 at the latest (We have also sent an email to those whose email addresses we have). If you have not received a letter, please contact the Edinburgh Rugby office on 0131 346 5260.
