In the first half, Hugo Southwell scored a phenomenal try and Phil Godman scored a penalty on the stroke of half-time to put Edinburgh in front. Southwell's score arrived following a perfect line-break from Ben Cairns to reduce the deficit to just two points at Adams Park. Then Godman nailed his kick to set up a thrilling second half, but Edinburgh were penalised four times and Dave Walder scored all the points. In a scrappy, disjointed match at Adams Park, Wasps took the lead after a lapse in concentration proved costly for Edinburgh - stand-in, stand-off Walder scoring the try and adding the extras. If you haven’t managed to make the trip down south either watch the match live on Sky Sports (the ERSC will be watching the game at Finnigan’s Wake, 9B Victoria Street) or click here for live updates. All the post-match reaction plus score updates will of course be appearing here at www.edinburghrugby.org – so stay on the ball and make the official website your first port of call for the latest news on your favourite team.

Edinburgh narrowly missed out on achieving a memorable win at the home of English champions, London Wasps, but, despite producing some first half heroics, ran out of steam in the second half.
