Edinburgh took the lead through a penalty from Godman, who was tactically spot on, and first half tries from Allan Jacobsen and Mark Robertson put Edinburgh firmly in the driving seat - it could have even been more. Chris Paterson nailed three conversions to add to Edinburgh's overall tally and up front the home side were completely dominant. Morgan Stoddart and Martin Roberts both responded with tries for Scarlets but they proved to be nothing more than consolation efforts for the former league leaders. Edinburgh: C Paterson (Thompson); A Turnbull, H Southwell, N De Luca, M Robertson; P Godman (D Blair), M Blair (capt, B Meyer); A Jacobsen (G Kerr), R Ford (A Kelly), G Cross, C Hamilton (J Hamilton), B Gissing, M Mustchin, A MacDonald (S Newlands), A Hogg. Subs: A Kelly, G Kerr, J Hamilton, S Newlands, B Meyer, D Blair, J Thompson. Nick De Luca scored a breathtaking try to supplement a drop goal from Phil Godman and two well-taken tries from Mark Robertson as Edinburgh romped home against the Scarlets.
