After recovering from a neck problem, the Scotland Club internationalist showed his quality with an assured performance in the front row against a Selkirk team without the injured Sean Crombie. Meanwhile, scrum half Greig Laidlaw gave head coach Andy Robinson another reminder of his qualities as he contributed 10 points (a try, a penalty and a conversion) for Edinburgh Academicals in their 32-17 win at Glasgow Hawks. Elsewhere, prop Kyle Traynor made a difference for Watsonians against West of Scotland during the maroon and whites 38-12 win at Myreside while Currie's Andrew Easson and Stirling's Ryan Grant ended up in a 13-13 draw at Malleny Park.
