ImageMarc Teague scored a memorable try for Heriot’s during their 23-3 win at Stirling County on Saturday.

The summer signing, who stepped down as the Nails captain after joining Edinburgh, evaded three tackles before dotting down in the corner.

Hooker Sean Crombie also crossed the whitewash for new club Selkirk during a 28-6 win over Melrose at Philiphaugh.

Crombie, who won the title with Boroughmuir last season, made an immediate impact on his debut for the Premier One new boys.

Meanwhile, big Jim Hamilton played his first competitive match since late February when he featured in Watsonians’ front-five.

But the Myreside-based club lost 47-14 at Ayr, although lock Hamilton got some much needed game-time in his bid to return to pro duties.

It was a battle of the brothers at Raeburn Place where Edinburgh Academicals’ stand-off Alex Blair, the youngest brother of Mike and David, faced Currie flanker Mark Cairns, Ben’s elder sibling – both of whom have featured in Edinburgh’s back-up team.

The match ended in a 17-10 win for Accies while Boroughmuir captain Fergus Pringle scored a try during their 73-10 victory over Glasgow Hawks.
