Rob Moffat branded Edinburgh's performance at Connacht as 'unacceptable' and stresses that the squad will be working harder than ever to put things right in time for the next Magners League match at Newport Gwent Dragons on Friday 16 April.
Moffat said: "The bottom line is that Connacht deserved to win the match. We were very poor in the first half and, even though we ended up in the lead at half-time, we didn't deserve to be in front.
"It was a poor performance and that is unacceptable. Connacht played quite well, but basically we were flat tonight.
"We didn't execute the game plan properly and our punishment was losing the game. We made life hard for ourselves."
The squad are now away from Murrayfield for a week because of the blank fixture weekend, due to the Heineken Cup, and Moffat vowed the players would be working harder than ever to prepare for the must-win trip to Dragons.
He added: "We have to take the result on the chin and move on. We've got to realise that if we play like that we won't win games.
"When the players come back they will be working hard to prepare for the Dragons game and it is important that everybody learns from this experience."
