After a six week wait and three straight away games at Dragons, Munster and Scarlets, Murrayfield Magners League action returns on Friday as Cardiff Blues visit the national stadium (kick-off 7.30pm).

The match gives Edinburgh the chance to gain revenge for the 21-14 defeat inflicted by Dai Young’s men in the capital club’s last home fixture, a Heineken Cup clash back on 22 January.

It will also be a first home game for interim head coach Nick Scrivener, who today called on supporters to turn out in force as Edinburgh look to get their campaign back on track.

The Australian told www.edinburghrugby.org: “We’ve had a tough run of matches on the road, and we’re all really looking forward to being amongst our own people again come Friday night and giving them a positive performance and result.

“There is a lot for us to work on and improve from the Scarlets game, and both myself and the supporters need to see a reaction from the players. The crowd have helped us over the line in a few tight games, like Glasgow and Ulster, and we’ll be doing everything we can to earn that level of backing again against Cardiff.”

Friday’s game is not on television, so get yourself down to Murrayfield and help Edinburgh return to winning ways.
